This year, pumpkins were our main theme around Li Ping as our theme for Halloween. We started getting ready for celebrations early in October, and our diligent EC helpers were assigned a floor of the school to decorate. They were very enthusiastic and set off to make Li Ping more spooky looking.
Leading up to the Halloween party day, which was held on the 31st of October, P1, P2, and P3 students were given a paper pumpkin to let their creative juices flow. We had some imaginative pumpkin portraits come in and we displayed them in the hall. For P4, P5 and P6 the school provided them with a white polystyrene pumpkin and for them to create a fun pumpkin. It was such a blast receiving artistic pumpkins and we hung them up in the hall for display. Some students really went all the way out with their 3D pumpkins. On the party day, the students were very much in high spirits, and almost everyone dressed up in fun costumes. They shared their candy while chanting ‘trick or treat’ chants and poems. This was a special year where the NETs made a Spooky Wookie Maze in the English room! But everyone’s verdict was: The Spooky Wookie Maze was NOT SCARY AT ALL!! There were also hall games, including a slime station, tattoo station, photo booth, Ghost Attach booth and a Ghostbusters station. Everyone had a fabulous time and this year there were even more candy to share and English chants to learn. Can’t wait until the next one!
